What this policy covers

Your privacy is important to us, and so is being clear about how we collect, use, and share your information/data.

MyDBA collects and analyses database telemetry collected by a software agent installed by you within your computer network. Telemetry data is uploaded to our online systems where it is analysed & displayed in our online portal where you and others you invite can view it.

This policy is intended to help you understand the terms by which you may use our online services and ensure that your privacy is protected.

Information we collect about you

General information : We collect information about you when you input it into our system or otherwise provide it directly to us. The information consists of your name and email which are used to gain access into your account.

Usage Data : This is information about your operating environment and information input by you that allows our monitoring agent software to locate and access database systems you wish to be monitored within your network such as server names, IP addresses, and access credentials.

Payment Information : Telemetry captured by MyDBA includes a range of measurements about system health, configuration, resource usage, errors, database structures and query activity within monitored database systems. This is, by far, the bulk of information collected by MyDBA.

Telemetry : We collect payment and billing information when you register for certain paid services. MyDBA utilises secure, dedicated payment processing services and we do not store any credit card information you provide, other than that exchanged with the payment processing services such as masked cred card numbers (with only the last few numbers displayed) and payment tokens.

Cookies : We track usage of our website through online analytic services providers including Google Analytics via which your IP address and physical location may be identified and stored.

License Usage Data : This is information that allows us to identify your account entitlements, such as license consumption, capacity, or type in our systems through an assigned license ID. We use this information to validate accounts and automate license verification.

How we use your information

We use the information MyDBA collects from you to deliver services to you. We take seriously the need to balance the delivery of our services with your privacy rights and have summarised for you here how we use your Information:

Administrative information : We may need to notify you when we make updates to our terms or policies or make changes to our website services. We will use your name and email address to send administrative notices to you, which due to their nature are treated differently from marketing communications from which you can opt out.

Manage your MyDBA account : Our services include tailored features that personalise your experience, enhance your productivity, and improve your ability to collaborate effectively with others by automatically analysing the activities of your team to provide search results, activity feeds, notifications, connections and recommendations that are most relevant for you and your team.

To communicate with you about our services : We use your contact information to send transactional communications via email and within the services, including confirming your purchases, reminding you of subscription expirations, responding to your comments, questions and requests, providing customer support, and sending you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.

To improve customer service : We use your information to resolve technical issues you encounter, to respond to your requests for assistance, to analyse crash information, and to repair and improve the services we offer. Where you give us permission to do so, we share information with a third-party expert for the purpose of responding to support-related requests.

To process transactions : Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested by the customer.

For data analytics : We use third-party analytic user services, like Google analytics, to track where our users are coming from their location and country through IP addresses.

For security measures : We use information about you to monitor activity that we think is suspicious or potentially fraudulent, and to identify violations or this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service and/or national laws.

Information we collect about you

We are not in the business of selling information about you to advertisers or other third parties, however we reside within an ecosystem of service providers with interconnected systems which means some level of handling of your data is unavoidable.

MyDBA may share your Information to others in the following ways:

When you permit it : MyDBA allows you to share your database telemetry with third parties via our “invite” feature. When you do this, MyDBA allows these invited third parties to access your data in accordance with the permissions granted to them by you.

With service providers : We may disclose information to our service providers (e.g., infrastructure as a service, order fulfillment , professional/customer/support services) where necessary. Those service providers will only be provided with access to your information as is reasonably necessary for the purpose that MyDBA has engaged the service provider, and we will require that such third parties comply with our Privacy Policy, appropriate data processing terms and any applicable laws.

With partners and sponsors : We may disclose contact and account information to our partners and event sponsors (identified at time of registration or event participation) in accordance with written agreements with confidentiality, privacy and security obligations. They may use the information to assess your interest in MyDBA offerings, conduct user research and surveys, or send you marketing communications, subject to the terms of their privacy policies. We may also share Support Usage Data with partners when they manage your offering for you.

For compliance and safety : In exceptional circumstances, we may be required to share information about you with a third party to (a) comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal process or governmental requests, including to meet national security requirements (including those outside your country of residence), (b) enforce our agreements, policies and terms of service, (c) protect the security or integrity of our products and services, (d) protect MyDBA, our customers or the public from harm or illegal activities, or (e) respond to an emergency which we believe in good faith requires us to disclose information to assist in preventing the death or serious bodily injury of any person.

Merger, Sale, etc : We may disclose information in the event of a proposed or actual corporate or financing transaction, such as a reorganisation, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or disposition of all or any portion of MyDBA business, assets, or stock (including information regarding any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).

Data we collect from the Facebook, Google & LinkedIn social networking logins

SQLBench allows you to login and access our services through your already existing Facebook, Google and/or LinkedIn social networking accounts. When choosing to login via one of these services you are complying with the privacy policy and terms and conditions of the respective site and some of your information from these sites is shared with us.

Below we have summarised the information that each site may access:

Facebook : if you choose to login with your Facebook account we will ask permission to access basic information from the account including your name, profile picture and email address which we use to identify you within SQLBench.

LinkedIn : If you choose to login in with your LinkedIn account, some data from your profile will become available to us including your name, profile picture and email address, which we use to identify you within MyDBA.

Google : If you choose to login with your Google account, we will request your name, profile picture and email address, which we will use to identify you within MyDBA.

How we store and protect your information

Your information collected through the services we provide will be stored and processed in countries in which MyDBA or its subsidiaries, affiliates or service providers maintain facilities.

MyDBA takes reasonable measures to safeguard personal data against loss, theft, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction. No data transmission, software, or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure so if you have reason to believe that any of your information is not secure or has been accessed improperly, please notify us. If MyDBA learns of a breach of its systems, MyDBA may be required to notify you or others consistent with applicable law and/or as agreed in our contract with you. MyDBA may communicate with you electronically regarding privacy and security issues affecting information collected through your interactions or use of our offerings.

How to access and control your information

You have certain choices available to you when it comes to your information. Below is a summary of those choices, how to exercise them and any limitations.

Your account information and settings : You may update your account information by logging into your account and changing your profile settings. You can also stop receiving promotional email communications from us by clicking on the “unsubscribe link” provided in such communications. We make every effort to promptly process all unsubscribe requests.

Deactivate your account : If you no longer wish to use our services, you may deactivate your services account. Please be aware that deactivating your account does not delete your information; your information continues to reside in our system and others who have access to it may continue to still have access to your information.

Delete your account : Our services allows you to delete certain information about you from within the service such as your profile and past usage data. Please note, however, that we may need to retain certain information for record keeping purposes, to complete transactions or to comply with our legal obligations. If you would like to exercise these rights, please submit your privacy@MyDBA.com and we will endeavor to respond in a reasonable time.

How we transfer your information internationally

We collect information globally and may transfer, process and store your information outside of your country of residence, to wherever we or our third-party service providers operate for the purpose of providing you the services. Whenever we transfer your information, we take steps to protect it.

To facilitate our global operations, we transfer information globally and allow access to that information from countries in which the MyDBA owned or operated companies have operations. These countries may not have equivalent privacy and data protection laws to the laws of many of the countries where our customers and users are based. When we share information about you within and among MyDBA corporate affiliates, we make use of standard contractual data protection clauses, which have been approved by the European Commission.
